Elder Hill

Elder Hill
At the Cafe

Elder Hill has been in Lima Peru since Sept 3o, 2009. Given that he was placed in advanced Spanish he was sent out into the Mission Field early. His stay in the Provo MTC was three weeks and then sent out to his first assignment in Machu-Picchu. Not the ruins however, this is a small suburb outside Lima. He has a great first companion and is working hard each day. They are teaching many lesson each week and has had several baptisms. He is excited. Although the work is difficult, he states that it is worth it when the baptisms come through.
Elder Hill loves receiving correspondence from his friends. It keeps him motivated. Be sure to visit his web site. Look it up on Dearelder.com. I am still trying to get the hang of blogging. Maybe Elder Hill's sister can assist. Should anyone need info regarding Elder Hill feel free to call us. You can get our number from his brother John Hill.
Anyway I will try to upload some pictures later and get a better layout for blog.

I am Elder Hill's dad and this is my first attempt at blogging. Wish me luck. I hope to keep everyone informed about Elder Chris Hill and his mission.

Elder Christopher Hill

Chris reported to the Provo MTC on September 9, 2009. At first he was placed in an intermediate Spanish class and they called him to be the District Leader. Things were going really well for him, however, given that he has been studying Spanish and did a semester abroad in Spain he speaks Spanish fairly well, so they moved him to the advanced Spanish class. Now all his district is made up of all native Spanish speakers. He has been assigned to two Latino companions and is a junior companion. This was a big change. From district leader to junior companion, from part English to full time Spanish. Oh well his spirits are high and he is looking forward to getting into the mission field. He will spend only three weeks in the MTC in Provo and then go directly into the mission field bypassing the Peru MTC altogether. I hope to get some picture up soon. He loves receiving snail mail, given that he can get it throughout the week. Emails he can only read once a week. So send him letters, even if it is only one or two lines. Keep Elder Hill in your prayers.
